Hi, I am the author of this site. I love my Bettas, along with my other fish, dearly. I have recently been obtaining some very nice breeding stock. 

• I suggest feeding Hikari Cichlid Gold baby sized pellets. You can even get them to eat out of your fingers.
• I also choose to use a bit of salt in all of my tanks. I think it is a great preventative. I also use Novaqua, Amqual & Aquari-Sol during water changes. 
• When I know my spawn is going to hatch in the night, I cover the tank during the day with the light off and let the daddy rest. Then I leave the light on all night for him.
• To treat small amounts of water, use 1 drop of Aquari-Sol per gallon, 4 drops of Novaqua/Amquel per gallon (more will not hurt). 2 drops of MarOxy per gallon. 4 drops of MelaFix per gallon.
