Small
Sponge Filter |
You will need a filter to keep the
water clean and healthy for the fry (babies) for the duration of their
stay. A small sponge filter is a good choice so that the fry will not get
sucked into it. Place this filter in an established tank for at least
a few days before placing it in the breeding tank. This will help get the
natural bacteria needed to stabilize the tank. The filter is also used to
'break' the surface of the water up for the fry when they begin breathing
from the surface.
This would be a good choice :
Biofoam Sponge Filter
Harmful wastes are biologically transformed
into relatively harmless substances by aerobic bacteria that accumulate in
the sponge. Air-driven system captures particles and returns clear water
to tank.
